You probably have learned that MONEY Magazine and CNN/Money have ranked Sugar Land the third best place to live in America. This recognition comes soon after Sugar Land being named by another national publication as one of the Top 10 Best Places to Raise Your Family in the U.S.

MONEY magazine and CNN/Money spend months each year looking for great American towns -- where people want to raise children and celebrate life's milestones. Starting with 700 cities this year with populations above 50,000, they studied data on a wide range of economic and quality-of-life indicators. After several rounds of evaluation, they visited the promising cities across the country, interviewing residents, community leaders and local officials before compiling the final rankings. The list was narrowed to the 10 best -- with Sugar Land as the nation’s third best place to live.

The consensus was that Sugar Land is one of the country's more diverse communities with job opportunities, affordable housing, and exemplary schools. Among the 10 best cities, Sugar Land’s economy was ranked at the top with about a 31 percent job growth rate during the last five years. Sugar Land was also identified as the third best in grade school education. Its neighborhood children have reading scores 15.4% and math scores 21.5% above state average. Sugar Land kids not only go to top schools, but also participate in various after-school activities. First-class sports facilities, art music classes, and enrichment learning centers are abundant in the area.

We are glad that Sugar Land is recognized nation wide. Most Beestar staff have lived in the area for 10+ years, and have seen a great deal of exciting development. In retrospect, Beestar has been following the pace of our expanding community. It fills our growing need of better kids education.
